Why we’re increasing our prices.

These price increases are typically the result of significant cost inflation of logistics, energy, freight and raw material costs. In particular, the cost of high energy prices continues to be the most significant of these pressures with the continual rise fundamentally impacting cost of manufacturing products across the board. As has been the case for many months now, products involving PVC or cement continue to be hit hardest by the increase in price for essential raw materials which again, is impacting the manufacturing costs.

Keeping up to date.

Why we’re increasing our prices.

The largest reason given by our suppliers for these increases is the unprecedented increase in the cost of fuel which, since December 2021, has increased over 25%. This increase has been unpredictable to many of our suppliers and has unfortunately caused many to increase their prices at short notice. This is further impacted by the impending removal of the rebate fuel entitlement which comes into effect in April. Despite this, we want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can behind the scenes, as always, to minimise these increases.

Other than fuel, price increases continue to rise due to increased costs for raw materials, labour costs, transport, freight and packaging. Suppliers are also continuing to see the impact of the increase in wholesale energy costs in their overall product production costs which is causing them to increase their prices.

Yours Sincerely, Jewson

Swish price increase March 2022

Material Price Surcharge - March

As a valued customer of Swish, you will shortly be receiving the below letter of communication from our Sales Director, David Whittaker, regarding an upcoming material price surcharge in March 2022.
It is with great regret that I have to inform you that the Russian invasion of Ukraine and subsequent disruption to oil, gas and energy supply across the world has now impacted our market. We have been informed of immediate unprecedented price increases by our PVC resin suppliers and warned to expect further increases in future months. At this stage it is extremely difficult to predict the scale or timing of the increases in April and onward.
We expect to be able to navigate through these difficult times and maintain our service as we did in 2021 and would ask that all customers work with us to this end.

Prices will be increased by 10% on all products, except internal decorative panels, on all orders received on or after the 30th of March 2022 or invoiced on or after the 1st of April.
This increase is in addition to all previous price increases. We will continue to review the situation on a weekly basis and keep customers informed as the situation develops.
Once again, thank you for your continued support in these very difficult times. I hope to be able to communicate more positive news later in the year.
David Whittaker
