Jewson Price increase March 2022

TIMBER PRICE INCREASES

Dear customer,

Given the current market conditions we know how important it is that you are provided with advanced notice of any significant supplier price increases. We are therefore advising you of some price increases on products that you have purchased previously. These increases will come into effect on March 1st 2022.

Hardwood Plywood Up to 5% Price Increase

Marine Plywood  5%Price Increase

Why we’re increasing our prices.

Unfortunately, pricing in the plywood market remains very volatile. As a result of increasing worldwide demand, coupled with other markets willing to pay more for timber than the UK, the price continues to fluctuate. As we strive to guarantee supply in the market, the effect this demand is having in the market means we are forecasting further increases over the next few months.

Yours Sincerely, Jewson

Jewsons Price increase February 2022

JEWSONFEBRUARY PRICE INCREASES

Dear customer,

Given the current market conditions we know how important it is that you are provided with advanced notice of any significant supplier price increases. We are therefore advising you of some price increases on products that you have purchased previously.

Why we’re increasing our prices.

Suppliers are continuing to see challenges in regards to raw material availability and prices. The decreased availability has caused cost inflation and this has therefore increased the cost of production for a number of products (for example, steel lintels).

Amongst other reasons, there are two additional costs in particular that are currently impacting suppliers, which are transport costs and energy prices. Whilst transport costs have decreased over the last couple of months, the cost of transporting goods into the UK still remains high. Lastly, as you may have read yourself, supplier costs will increase in 2022 due to the higher wholesale energy costs which will impact the cost of product production.

As always, we are working hard behind the scenes to minimise these price increases but we wanted to let you know the current projected increases to allow you to plan accordingly. These increases will come into effect on February 1st 2022

Product Category & Price Increase

Plastic plumbing = 10%

Above and Below ground plastics = upto 45%

Steel lintels = 9%

Roof windows = 5.3 - 12%
Wool insulation = 10 - 18%
Power Tools and Accessories = 4-8%

Timber fence panels = up to 12%
Render = 5.5 - 20%
Marine plywood = 7.5%
Hardwood plywood = 7.5

Please note, the above increases do not apply to all products within the categories and only highlight the most relevant price increases.

Plastics increase clarification - We wanted to reinforce that the increase stated for Plastics does not cover all suppliers or all products within this category. For the products that are affected, the level of increase varies by product group with the maximum increase set at 45%.

If you’d like to talk to us about anything we’ve included within this letter, please get in touch with your local branch. We look forward to continuing to work with you.

Yours Sincerely, Jewson
